Phan Minh Duc , Nguyen Thi Tuoi
Abstract
Digital rights management or digital content copyright management may seem different but they all refer to the same concept used by economic scholars, mentioning the management of digital products and services of the companies in the most secure way, in opposition to the fair use principle. DRM has been studied a lot in the early years of the decade 2000-2010 when the world economy was in the booming period of online businesses and Internet platforms. Today, when digital content becomes more diverse and digital products and services become popular in the trend of digitizing economies, the need to manage rights related to products and translation processes has increased. Services and distribution methods in the digital environment become urgent for businesses in the process of digital transformation, regardless of which fields they are operating in. Vietnamese businesses, especially e-commerce enterprises, need to do more thorough research on the system to help manage digital rights in order to keep business secrets and create sustainable competitive advantages. The paper approaches that process with some typical digital product supplying areas in the Vietnamese market to explain the core contents as well as problems arising in the application of digital rights management in Vietnam.
